The Limerick Search
A couple of search engines tailored to searching for limericks



Find that unforgettable Limerick that you can never remember . . .






   

Perhaps the best way to find a limerick is to search Jim McWilliam's limerick database with Google's Advanced Search  
In the Domain line select Only and type  hardsoft.us in the blank field

 

Hint:

Enter a full line if you remember it.   Next, since there are so many limerick variations, try a critical phrase like: “Garden of Eden”

This engine searches the entire database so the shorter the phrase, the more irrelevant hits you will receive.

Take advantage of Google's Advanced Search options

 

To search for those original limericks that are floating around the internet but haven't yet been classified and databased, try the AllinOne search engine. 

Enter a phrase or an entire limerick line in quotes:    e.g.,    “In the Garden of Eden lay Adam”



Now search for limericks on a MetaSearch Engine AllinOne

Hint:  


Search on a full line if possible and then zero in by using the "Grouped Results"


This search engine generates a lot of irrelevance so be patient...


You'll probably want to check the select all box and uncheck the adult filter box
